Just tried the new Le Grand Bistro American in Kirkland. They are in the spot previously occupied by Blu Water Bistro. (Another of my favorite restaurants) The Executive Chef is previously of Cremant in Medrona, which closed last year.
They seem to be still getting the kinks out, since they just opened on Monday. I recommend the Boeuf(Beef) Bourguignon (Beef Stew). Tender chunks of what I think is boneless shortribs with redwine, pearl onions, mushrooms, and fingerling potatoes. Mmmmm.
We started out with the Oyster Rockefeller. Different than other Rockefeller's I've had since the oyster wasn't cooked all the way through. It was very nice.
We also had the Charcuterie Platter with 5 of their house cured meats. A nice assortment and yummy too.
I had the Hanger Steak with Mashed Potatoes with White Truffle Oil. Not too bad, but nothing outstanding.
We finished off the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Excellent dessert, not too heavy or too sweet. A good finish to a good meal.
Wish I had my camera to take pictures, but you'll just have to go try it to understand why I think this place is going to be successful.
Here's the menu. Start drooling now... :-)
