Mod Pizza

If you're looking for a inexpensive, low carb, and yummy pizza, check out Mod Pizza. All the toppings you want for $6.28. The crust is more like a flat bread than a traditional pizza crust. Thin and crispy.
The garlic knots are a must have too. Little breadsticks tied into a knots brushed with olive oil and garlic chunks.

Mod stands for 'Made On Demand' and they really do.

As a bonus, check in with FourSquare and you get a free small pop.

Don't forget dessert. Pick up a old skoll Ding Dong located by the registers.

California Pizza Kitchen

Haven't been to a CPK for at least 2 years. It's as good as I remember. :-) In my early 20's, it was one of my favorite places to hang out in the summer. After living in Bellevue for 16 years, I found out my mom has never been there.

For starters we had the Avocado Club Egg Rolls and Sesame Ginger Chicken Dumplings.
I had my favorite pizza, the Tostada Pizza with Honey Wheat Crust, my Mom had the Vegetarian Pizza on Honey Wheat, and my sister's boyfriend had the Thai Chicken Pizza.
For dessert we had my favorite Tiramisu. I was glad too see it was still moist and creamy. Though there were 2 new desserts that I'll have to go back for, Butter Cake and Strawberry Shortcake.

New Restaurant in Kirkland - Le Grand Bistro Americain

Just tried the new Le Grand Bistro American in Kirkland. They are in the spot previously occupied by Blu Water Bistro. (Another of my favorite restaurants) The Executive Chef is previously of Cremant in Medrona, which closed last year.

They seem to be still getting the kinks out, since they just opened on Monday. I recommend the Boeuf(Beef) Bourguignon (Beef Stew). Tender chunks of what I think is boneless shortribs with redwine, pearl onions, mushrooms, and fingerling potatoes. Mmmmm.

We started out with the Oyster Rockefeller. Different than other Rockefeller's I've had since the oyster wasn't cooked all the way through. It was very nice.

We also had the Charcuterie Platter with 5 of their house cured meats. A nice assortment and yummy too.

I had the Hanger Steak with Mashed Potatoes with White Truffle Oil. Not too bad, but nothing outstanding.

We finished off the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Excellent dessert, not too heavy or too sweet. A good finish to a good meal.

Wish I had my camera to take pictures, but you'll just have to go try it to understand why I think this place is going to be successful.

Here's the menu. Start drooling now... :-)
